A New Wine From Domaine Bousquet: Gaia Pinot Noir Rosé

Just in time for spring and summer sipping (not to mention National Rosé Day on June 12) we have a delightful rosé from Domaine Bousquet, Argentina’s noted organic winery, to share with you. We received this wine as a tasting sample.

This is the inaugural vintage of Domaine Bousquet’s Gaia Pinot Noir Rosé, made using estate-grown Pinot Noir. Since the first grapes were planted in the late 1990s by Jean Bousquet, all farming has been organic and all estate vineyards are certified organic. The vineyards are located on a tract of land that was untouched when Jean purchased it. It is a remote and arid location high in the Tupungato district of the Uco Valley in Argentina’s Mendoza region. Today Jean’s daughter Anne Bousquet and her husband Labid Al Ameri continue his work, guided by the Bousquet family’s four generations of winemaking experience beginning in the South of France. Domaine Bousquet wines are now exported around the world.

2020 Domaine Bousquet Gaia Pinot Noir Rosé, Gualtallary, Mendoza, Argentinabright copper with generous aromas of raspberries, strawberries and blackberries. Flavors include blackberries, cherries, raspberries and citrus zest in a nearly medium body. Acidity is lively and the finish medium in length. 13.1% abv. SRP $20

Domaine Bousquet’s tagline is Naturally Elegant Wines and that applies as much to this wine as it has to the many other wines we’ve tasted from Domaine Bousquet. True to the Domaine Bousquet style, this rosé is vegan friendly and certified organic by Ecocert. Made With Organic Grapes appears on the front label.

The beautiful color in the bottle and the attractive label will draw you in, but it’s the taste in the glass and the weight on the palate that will hold your attention. Sip this rosé on the patio or as you prepare dinner. It will be delicious with a Cobb salad, Niçoise salad, charcuterie or a turkey burger. You will be all set for National Rosé Day and beyond with this delicious rosé in your glass.

Thanks to Domaine Bousquet for a taste of this new wine and to Creative Palate Communications for organizing our tasting.

Cheers!
