2010 Bronis Pinot Grigio Oltrepo Pavese

Bronis Pinot GrigioThis weekend we had a 2010 Bronis Pinot Grigio Oltrepo Pavese. We had recently tasted several domestic Pinot Grigio so I was interested in comparing an Italian wine with those.

The 2010 Bronis Pinot Grigio compared very well, a light yellow color as most Pinot Grigio are and there was a citrus and mineral nose. There was plenty of flavor, a bigger wine than I had expected with citrus, honey and mineral flavors and it had a pleasant roundness to it. There was good acidity for a clean, moderate length finish.

We made some hummus and sat in the backyard and enjoyed the wine along with it. The wine paired well and was very refreshing on a warm evening. At a low price of $9.97 at Wine Chateau, a retail and internet wine store, and only 12% abv. this is a great buy.

  1. Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll see if they are available over here. I wish we could get them for the price you pay!

  2. Nice to read about the Bronis wine, as we live a few km from the cantina. Try the Bonarda frizzante, fresh and fruity, ideal summer wine. And the Pinot Nero rosé and the white wines, as the region specializes in this grape. We only pay 2.50€ though 😉
