2010 Adelsheim Vineyard Auxerrois Ribbon Ridge

Adelsheim Vineyard Auxerrois2010 Adelsheim Vineyard Auxerrois Ribbon Ridge (13.2% abv) – What the heck is an Auxerrois? It is an ancient cross between Pinot Noir and Gouais Blanc. It is somewhat like an un-oaked Chardonnay and Adelsheim has only three acres planted. I have heard there may also be some grown in British Columbia.

This wine has a light yellow color with a floral nose along with some citrus, maybe grapefruit. There are very nice mineral and grapefruit flavors, a little tart and a little floral, too. Plenty of acid and a nice crisp and clean finish with plenty of flavor. This is a great wine to have on a hot summer evening in the backyard.
