We had a bottle of this 2000 Trimbach Gewürztraminer from Alsace last June and loved it so we decided to pull another one out of the cellar and see how it has evolved over the last year. The color is a beautiful honey yellow and the nose is floral with some botrytis. In the mouth you get a roundness with sweet floral flavors of honey, botrytis and complex spices. There is plenty of acid to give a nice clean finish. This wine is aging well and we expect to enjoy it for several more years. I am curious how long this will age, I guess I’ll find out eventually as I have several more bottles.
Trimbach has been making wine in Alsace since the 1600s. They make a variety of wines including Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and more.
This wine is so good whether you have it on a hot summer night or with Asian cuisine. They’re consistent year after year.
I do believe I’m all out of this wine 🙁
Time to go buy more 🙂
