2000 Trimbach Gewürztraminer (Alsace) – Medium yellow color. Honey, floral and more in the nose. Lively acid with honey, caramel, mineral and more in the mouth. Moderately long finish with the caramel flavor.
We tasted this about three weeks ago at the Diageo picnic and Nancy liked it so much we bought some for a backyard sipping wine.

Excellent choice! I usually recommend this when someone asks for a Gewurztraminer. The quality of the wine is consistent vintage after vintage. Although, Chateau Ste. Michelle and Chateau St. Jean produce a very good Gewurztraminer as well. I like it with clams with clam sauce over linguine. I’ve also paired this wine with several Thai dishes and Cajun Scallops where the recipe changes every time I make this. I should write down the ingredients the next time I make this dish. There is going to come a time when I won’t be able to remember the recipe:)
