Woodbridge Winery Hosts Annual CASI California State Championship Chili Cook-off and Classic Car Show on October 20th.
All proceeds from the event will go directly toward the Lodi Public Library Foundation.
WHAT: This year’s annual Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) California State Championship Chili Cook-off will feature cooks from across the United States preparing chili from scratch at Woodbridge Winery in Lodi. Each chili dish will be evaluated by a panel of judges in a blind tasting. The cook-off will feature competition in five categories: CASI-sanctioned chili, People’s Choice chili, salsa, guacamole and CASI showmanship. The three California teams with the highest scores will qualify for the Terlingua International Chili Cook-Off in Terlingua, Texas in November 2013.

WHY: A great cause, delicious food and a fabulous setting. Open to the public at no cost, this event will bring more than 35 passionate cooks and their culinary teams together to compete. Giving back to the community was a cornerstone of the late Robert Mondavi’s philosophy, and, as in the past, Woodbridge Winery will honor this vision by donating all proceeds from the event to the Lodi Public Library Foundation. Now in its 45th year, CASI sanctions over 500 U.S. and international cook-offs and donates over $1,000,000 annually to local charities.
