We recently tried the 2008 Sterling Reserve Chardonnay Napa Valley made with grapes sourced from the Carneros district. The wine was aged in neutral oak barrels and did not undergo malolactic fermentation so the oak is pretty moderate. The wine was a medium straw yellow and had a floral, citrus and caramel nose. There was a roundness in the mouth with good acidity and flavors of smokey citrus. The finish was nice and long with great flavor. This wine was almost addictive, you just didn’t want to put your glass down.
We enjoy wine, food and travel. Pull That Cork is a chronicle of our wine adventures, the food and wine pairings we create and our travels which are increasingly organized around wine.
