The 2008 Andrew Rich Mesalliance (14.1% alc.) is a blend of 46% Malbec, 46% Syrah and 8% Petit Verdot from the Columbia Valley in the state of Washington. The nose was very nice with the scent of blackberries. There were smooth well integrated tannins with dark berries and vanilla flavors. This is a flavorful and smooth drinking wine with a finish that lingers.
We first tasted this up in Oregon at The Carlton Winemakers Studios back in May of 2011. If you are interested in seeing the previous tasting notes please check out our previous post – Willamette Valley – The Last Sip.
