2000 Beaulieu Vineyards Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

Dave brought over a 2000 Beaulieu Vineyards Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon the other night for us to have with dinner. You may not think a $16 wine would last for twelve years but this one did great. Surprisingly fresh with a rich ripe fruit and vegetal nose with a little vanilla. The tannins were substantial but very smooth and lots of dark fruit flavors along with some bell pepper and tobacco. This wine has aged gracefully and will be good for a few more years. It also paired well with the burgers we had for dinner.
