This South African Mulderbosch Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch is a wine I have been drinking and enjoying for several years even as the different vintages varied. This particular bottle I bought last summer and it had gotten overlooked until now. I do remember the 2009 vintage as being a little grassy in the nose and flavor, more like a Sauvignon Blanc. That grassiness has intensified a little with another year of aging. The crisp acidity and flavorful finish is still there. It is still enjoyable drinking out here in the backyard. Our local wine shop should be getting the 2010 vintage in soon, it will be interesting to see what it is like. I’ll post some tasting notes on it as soon as I taste it.
What would we do without an iPad? Instead of enjoying the backyard and a nice glass of wine I would have to go inside and sit in front of the Mac. Wine and an iPad definitely make life more fun!
