Having recently reviewed the 2008 Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon we decide to also review the 2008 Beaulieu Vineyards Rutherford Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. There isn’t a lot of difference in the wineshop price for these two wines with the Rutherford being the more expensive, winery price is about a $10.00 difference. Three of us tasted this wine and we felt it was a little better than the Napa Valley Cabernet. It had a dark ruby color with a nose of dark stone fruits. While very similar to the Napa Valley Cabernet the Rutherford had more complex flavors and a lighter body. Very smooth tannins with a moderate finish. Very easy drinking.
We enjoy wine, food and travel. Pull That Cork is a chronicle of our wine adventures, the food and wine pairings we create and our travels which are increasingly organized around wine.
