2008 Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc– Light yellow with straw and a hint of floral in the nose. Good acid and a roundness in the mouth. Flavors of straw, mineral and grapefruit. Long finish with a lot of flavor. This is a good Sauvignon Blanc if you don’t like them grassy. It’s pairing well with sitting in the backyard 🙂
We enjoy wine, food and travel. Pull That Cork is a chronicle of our wine adventures, the food and wine pairings we create and our travels which are increasingly organized around wine.
I’m envious, but only a little as I’m enjoying a glass of well-chilled Taylor Brooke’s Winter Pomegranate. The wine is full of pomegranate on the nose and palate, my wife is enjoying their Summer Peach (as the name suggests it’s all peach) as the Connecticut heat wave has just begun. It’s expected to reach triple digits tomorrow. Thank goodness for chilled wines…
I’m curious … what is considered a heat wave in CT. I didn’t know you reached the triple digits there. We have just finally started hitting the high 70’s, about 2 months late. A heat wave for us would be over 100 for several days straight. Normally we should be in the 80’s and 90’s right now. Of course you probably have much higher humidity than we do which makes it feel even hotter.
I could go with the peach if it is a sparkling wine!
