The 2005 Chateau Malecasse has a dark garnet color. There is dark smokey fruit in the nose. Dark fruit, rubber tire, leather, rich flavors. Lots of tannin and adequate acid. Long finish. Maybe a little bitterness from the tannin on the finish. A very nice wine that can hold up to grilled meat. It went very well with our charcoal grilled flank steak with chimichurri sauce, oven roasted asparagus and yukon gold potatoes with creme fraiche.
We enjoy wine, food and travel. Pull That Cork is a chronicle of our wine adventures, the food and wine pairings we create and our travels which are increasingly organized around wine.
