The 2004 Miner Family Vineyards “The Oracle” had a medium garnet color. Cabernet like nose, a little stinky with bell pepper. Rich dark fruit with leather and big smooth integrated tannins with enough acidity to balance it. Long finish with flavor and tannins. After the wine sat in the glass for awhile there was less bell pepper and some cedar and more complex fruit showed. This wine could easily last several more years in the cellar.
This Napa Valley wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. The percentages vary from year to year depending on the quality of the varietals. This is a big wine with a lot of fruit and was very good.
