The 2003 Chateau Berliquet is a Grand Cru from Saint-Emilion on the right bank in Bordeaux. This means it is primarily Cabernet Franc and Merlot as opposed to the Cabernet Sauvignon which is the majority grape on the left bank. The color was a dark garnet and the nose was big with a lot of red fruit. There was ripe fruit with just a hint of vegetal in the flavor, very smooth tannins and a moderately long finish. Not a very complex wine but very nice.
We enjoy wine, food and travel. Pull That Cork is a chronicle of our wine adventures, the food and wine pairings we create and our travels which are increasingly organized around wine.
