I was a little skeptical when Dave brought over the 2002 Andrew Rich Willamette Valley Pinot Noir to share with us. I was’t sure Oregon Pinot’s would hold up this long. However, we were pleasantly surprised by how well it was drinking. The color was kind of bricky as you expect from a nine year old wine. The nose was of dried fruit which carried over into the flavor with the addition of cherries and a burst of spice. The tannins were very smooth and it had a light body with all that flavor. Overall a very nice wine that had aged well.
We enjoy wine, food and travel. Pull That Cork is a chronicle of our wine adventures, the food and wine pairings we create and our travels which are increasingly organized around wine.
