Imagery Estate Winery: Varietal Wines with a Twist

Any wine lover familiar with Sonoma wine will know the Benziger name. I most closely associate the name with Benziger Family Winery and their commitment to sustainable, organic and biodynamic viticulture. The winery recently celebrated 20 years of Demeter Biodynamic® certification. Joe is one of several Benziger siblings who with their father and brother Mike founded Benziger Family Winery in 1980. Joe went on to found Imagery Estate Winery in the early 1980s . We received these wines as tasting samples.

Imagery Estate Winery is a sister winery of Benziger Family Winery. Joe developed an interest in blending unique varieties into his wines and now his daughter and winemaker Jamie Benziger has followed in her father’s footsteps with Imagery’s California tier of wines. The winery describes this range of wines as a new collection for the next generation.

Art also figures into the Imagery wines with original artwork gracing the labels of its wines. The Imagery California range of wines features a distinctive paint drip on the label.

This Sauvignon Blanc is blended with a bit of dry Muscat and the floral elements of that variety are on full display in this wine with grassy notes in the background.

Wine drinkers who prefer wines with little less in the way of tannins and obvious fruit flavors in their red wine will appreciate this Cabernet Sauvignon, which is blended with Petite Sirah.

Cheers!
