There are so many wine blogs and other interesting sites out there that I do not intend to make a list of all of them. However, as I travel the internet I sometimes find a site that is particularly interesting. I’ll list those sites here with a little description of what I found.

Newest Additions:

High Point Holidays – Specialists in guided and self-guided walking holidays in some of the beautiful wine growing regions of France including the Beaujolais, Burgundy, the Jura and Cote Du Rhone as well as Provence and areas of the French Pyrenees and Alps.

PlusWine – The PlusWine site focuses on Wine Education and wine and food pairing. They have a unique approach to assisting you where you can start with the food or the wine. Then by making a few choices such as red or white wine, country of origin and so on food pairings are suggested. Or start with food and after a few choices of the type of food they will give you suggestions of which wines would pair well.

Wine Clubs:
VineLust – An interesting concept for a wine club. Instead of everyone getting the same wine each month you fill out a questionnaire on what you like. From that they determine what to send you. After you have tried the wines you fill out a critique of the wines and over time they learn your taste and should be sending out wines that match your taste.

Uncorked Ventures – A wine club specializing in wines from California, Oregon and Washington’s best wine producers. You choose the level and frequency of shipments. Founders Matt Krause & Mark Aselstine travel the wine regions of California, Oregon and Washington to seek out little-known quality wines, often produced in limited quantities, to include in their wine club offerings.

International Wine of the Month Club – If you are looking for a wine club but don’t want to be tied to a single winery or style, this is it. They have three levels of membership and ship domestic and international brands. They list previous shipments so you can get a good idea of what they ship before you join. We are members of this wine club.

Wine Club Guide – Wine club reviews and ratings. It’s nice to see wine clubs compared in one place. Also has wine reviews and other wine related articles.

Blogs:
Vinography.com – One of the most comprehensive and interesting blogs out there. Wine reviews, restaurant reviews, book reviews and great editorials. There is also a calendar of events from around the country. There is also a list of most or maybe all of the wine blogs out there.

The Wit Is Out – An eclectic site from New England with wine reviews, food and wine pairings, even with hot dogs, foreign film reviews. Interesting personal articles make it well worth visiting.

Wandering Wino – A really well built site with nicely edited videos, winery lists and ratings, guest articles and more.

Gourmet To Go – A great personal chef service for San Mateo south to Monterey. Disclaimer: She is also my cousin.

10 Best California Wineries With a View – Some great views of California wineries provided by Frommers.com.

Wine Country Getaways – In addition to winery tours this is a great resource for beginners and experienced wine tasters. Lots of information on which wineries to visit and tasting room etiquette. Has a Winery Guide, Tasting Room Guide and a Wine Enjoyment Guide.

Wine Peeps – An interesting blog that rates wine by a Quality to Price Ratio. They specialize in Washington state wines but also cover other areas. There are quite a few interesting articles of all types available.

Wannabe Wino Wine Blog – Nice collection of wine reviews from the east coast (the blogger location, not necessarily the wines). Nice writing style. Covers a wide range of wines.

Underground Cellar – A rather unique wine seller website. Wineries and importers advertise collections of wine on the site. These collections will have wines of similar style but different prices. The selling price is set by the least expensive wine. If you order three bottles at $15, one of the bottles may actually a much higher priced wine. They also will store your wine for you at no cost. You can buy wine and ask them to store it rather than shipping to you. Later when you want some of the wine, they will ship it to you. Currently case lots are shipped free.

zoomvino – A commercial site listing wineries around the world. What is interesting is seeing how many wineries there are in some countries. Like China, right now it shows 19 wineries (July 2011). For most wineries it also shows contact information and the location on a map. So if you need some contact info about a winery in another country you might start here.
