Sonoma Sipping
On a recent Thursday wine trip John and I ended up in Sonoma. We started at one of the oldest winery’s in California, Buena Vista. If you have never been there it’s a pleasure to visit. The staff is very nice, and our poorer was Staci ( yes with an i ), she is also the event planner at Buena Vista. If you are planning a group outing give her a call to set up your tour.
Some of the wines that I thought were tasty are:
2011 Pinot Gris – Stainless steel only. – Nice!
2008 Ramal Pinot Noir. Good
2009 Ramal Pommard Clone 5 Pinot Noir – Good
2009 Caneros Merlot – Good
2008 The Count Founders Red – Great Value
B R Cohn Winery was the next stop on the list:
2011 Sauvignon Blanc Napa – Very nice.
2009 Cab Franc – Wonderful!
2008 Cabernet Napa – Good
2008 Cabernet Olive Hill – Yum doesn’t cover it, bought it!
2009 Sonoma Zinfandel – Like a Zin should be.
Lunch was at The Breakaway Lounge, good food and a great selection.
The last stop was Cline Cellars. Sandra was the server and she was informative, helpful, and fun. The social media director at Cline is a great person by the name of Helen, and she knows her stuff, and is very nice. The three of us had a great time, my only wish was, that I wasn’t driving and had more time. I was expecting something less but got way more than I expected. The wines, and I mean all the wines were very good, and the grounds are nice. This would be a good place for a picnic.
2010 Big Break Zin – Minty very good
2010 Small Berry Mourvedre
The wines listed above are the only wines I tasted. But all the winery’s had many more wines to try. My suggestion would be try them all, but you knew that.
Sip your wine and taste the passion!
Peter, I think you need to crack that whip on Dave. He is a little tardy on his post. Good drinking.
